The UK is without a doubt a country that can be a great place to explore by car. Indeed, due to the somewhat unpredictable weather which the United Kingdom receives each year, anybody planning to make a trip to the UK which will include visits to multiple sites across the country would be advised to take the trip by car.
From the big city lifestyle in the major urban centres such as London, Manchester and Birmingham to the stunning natural countryside to be found in such places as Cornwall, The Lake District and Scotland, the UK has much to offer visitors. A whole wealth of cultural and historic sites can be found within the United Kingdom, including the enigmatic Stonehenge in Wiltshire, one of the oldest prehistoric monuments to be found in Europe, dating back to around 2500 BC. For those who enjoy sport, English Football is a national passion with many good quality stadiums to be found throughout the country.
The UK is gifted with an exceptionally well maintained road system, along with a good variety of relatively low cost public transport options including train and coach travel. There are local airports all over the country, serving both domestic and international flights. In London, Heathrow Airport remains the busiest international airport in the world. All major international car rental companies can be found operating within the UK including Hertz, Avis, Sixt, Budget and Europacar, along with a whole variety of locally based, privately owned hire companies.
